This is a delicious recipe. You wouldn't think it at first with the malt vinegar and apples. Sounds yuk but if you try it, I am sure you will love it. This recipe comes from my dad - Dharam Pal Mehay, and goes to show how the Indians adapted the local food (like malt vinegar) to their own tastes.

Ingredients
0.5Cucumber
1red onioneven better if you can get 1 sweet white onion
3Tomatoesthe sweetest available
0.5Iceburg lettuce
1green apple
3tspmalt vinegar
2tspgaram masala
1tspsalt
Method
Chop the cucumber length ways into quarters and then chop horizontally to make small approx 1cm cubes.
Slice the onion length ways.
Quartet the tomatoes.
Roughly chop the lettuce.
Cut the apple into small cubes (about same size as the cucumber bits).
Mix all together with malt vinegar (3 tbsp), garam masala (2 tsp) and salt (1 tsp).
