French toast with Blueberries (2 syns)
When I first tried this, I didn't expect it to be anything special. But seriously, one bite and you're in heaven!
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings 1 person
Ingredients
- 2 slices wholemeal bread (not wholegrain)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- fresh blueberries
- 2 tsp honey
Method
-
Whisk the 2 eggs with the cinnamon using a fork.
-
Dip the two slices of wholemeal bread (from a small 400g loaf) into the egg mixture and fry using Fry Light. Brown on both sides.
-
Spread with honey (1 tsp per slice).
-
Finally, mash the blueberries and spread onto each toast too.
Recipe Notes
2 syns for the 2 teaspoons of honey (1 syn per teaspoon of honey). This recipe is even more delicious if you buy honey with honeycomb in it and mash it all up. And instead of blueberries, try sliced strawberries.
By the way, BE CAREFUL WITH HONEY - lots of stores (especially international supermarkets) sell honey at cheap prices but when you read the ingredients - its a combination of honey and sugar/glucose syrup. Honey by reliable companies like Rowse are trustworthy to be the full thing.
